Stuffed & Smoked Jalapeno Peppers

Or ABT’s as we affectionately call them. For those not in the know ABT stands for Atomic Buffalo Turds. And where that may not sound appetizing the first time you hear it, one taste and you will change your mind immediately. If you do not have access to a smoker these can be easily roasted in the oven. But the smoker makes them a thousand times better. Maybe even a million.




  • 20 jalapeno peppers
  • 2 blocks of cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup thin sliced pepperoni, diced
  • 1 cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • Tablespoon of garlic powder
  • Tablespoon of onion powder
  • teaspoon brown sugar
  • teaspoon paprika
  • salt & pepper
  • 20 pieces of thin sliced bacon, cut in half lengthwise.


Halve lengthwise and seed the jalapenos. Set aside. In a bowl combine the cream cheese, cheddar, pepperoni, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, paprika and salt and pepper to taste. Make sure all the ingredients are evenly distributed. Taste and make sure you like it. Try not to eat all of it. Spread a healthy amount of the cream cheese mixture into each jalapeno half. Wrap the jalapeno with a slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick if necessary. Place each jalapeno cut side up directly on the grate of the smoker, or on a grate on a grate if you have one that fits. Not on a pan. Smoke for an hour and a half to two hours at 200-215 degrees. If you do not have a smoker roast in the oven at 350° on a rack that is on a baking sheet for about 30-45 minutes or until bacon is cooked. Serve and enjoy.
